When LNC Professional Guyana, the manager of LNC Professional Caricom, launched the distribution of LNC Professional products across the Caribbean, the response was not what we expected. Many nail technicians were skeptical. They wanted the cheapest gels that could get the job done. What didn’t matter to them back then was that LNC Professional gels products are TPO Free, a safety standard designed into our products long before regulations demanded it.
Health and safety were not priorities. Clients weren’t asking. Governments weren’t regulating. And many professionals, sadly, were willing to gamble with their customers’ well-being.
But times have changed.
Trimethylbenzoyl diphenylphosphine oxide (TPO) is a common photoinitiator used in many gel polishes. It helps the gel cure under UV or LED light. The problem? TPO has been classified as a Category 1B carcinogenic, mutagenic, or reprotoxic (CMR) substance, which means it poses potential risks to fertility and reproductive health.
This is not speculation. It’s regulation.
In other words, if you’re still using TPO gels, your products have an expiration date.
For our clients in Guyana, Caricom, and across the English-speaking Caribbean, there’s nothing to fear. Why?
Because LNC Professional gels products are TPO Free by design—and have been for years.
This isn’t a last-minute reformulation to comply with new rules. It’s part of our DNA. When we say safety and performance are non-negotiable, we mean it. Our gels already meet or exceed the highest standards set by the EU, UK, Canada, and USA.
When we hosted the first Green Nail Salon Conference in the Caribbean in 2024, we emphasized HEMA-Free gels. Many nail technicians made the switch. What we didn’t highlight enough is that LNC Professional gels are also TPO Free gels, making them even safer. Now, with the EU ban, our leadership position is crystal clear.
NSI has long pioneered formulas that protect both nail technicians and their clients. Our HEMA Free gels reduce the risk of allergic reactions and skin sensitivities. Combined with being TPO Free, LNC Professional gels deliver both beauty and peace of mind.
If you have these products in your salon or at home, you don’t need to worry—or throw them out.
The EU ban is not just Europe’s issue. It’s a global signal. Regulations are shifting. Clients are becoming more health-conscious. Salons that still rely on cheap, TPO-heavy products risk being left behind—or worse, putting their clients at risk.
Choosing NSI isn’t just about compliance. It’s about trust, reputation, and leadership in your community. Being known as a salon that prioritizes safety is a competitive advantage.
Next time you sit down for a manicure, ask your nail technician: “Are you using LNC Professional products?”
If the answer is no, don’t just walk away—gift them the products. Help them upgrade their service and protect their clients. At the very least, they’ll never be able to say, “no one told me.”
Because in this industry, ignorance is not bliss, it’s dangerous. And when you choose NSI, you’re choosing safety without compromise.
✅ LNC Professional gels products are TPO Free. Period. ✅ HEMA Free and safer by design. ✅ Trusted across Guyana, Caricom, and the English-speaking Caribbean.
It’s not about being trendy. It’s about being right. For your clients, your business, and your future.
